When the installation was going to be successful, I got this: Error registering media components. dT may not be able to play certain media format. I cannot open the programe after I had installed it. Also I used dTfulldownload link that admin usually gives in order to get throngh firewall, proxy but it used to be the same problem. Any advice ???

That's strange... doubleTwist may be using that codec, but the dynamic link to it should be working...

Perhaps your installation package is corrupted. Could you try downloading it again?

what version of .net do you have installed? Are you behind a firewall and do you have admin rights for downloading/installing additional components. Also, were you running anti-virus software during the install?

I am getting the same error message as the original poster. I'm using Vista with a 3.5 SP .net. Tried with and without firewall and anti-virus running.

Once I launch the program, I am unable to drag and drop video to my device.

There's no way to tell without looking under the hood to see exactly what the exception error is that's causing the crash when you try and transfer. It would help a lot if you could make a copy of the dterrorlog.txt file and send it to me.

Depending what Os you have, use the path to the error log from the following links using Windows explorer (my computer). Be sure to have your folder settings set to "show hidden."

C:\users\you\AppData\local\doubletwist corporation\doubletwist desktop\log\dterrorlog.txt Error log vista

C:\Documents and Settings\tester\Local Settings\Application Data\doubleTwist Corporation\doubleTwist desktop 2.0\Log Error Log xp

The error log you sent me indicates a corruption in your local db file.

The way to fix this is by a database file reset.

The best way to do that is to delete the doubleTwist local data base, which will make as though it is your initial launch of the software -- re-indexing your iTunes and local folder music, video and pictures library and rebuilding your database file from scratch.

To do this, first shut down doubleTwist.

then in windows explorer navigate to the doubletwist corporation folder and delete it.
Depending what Os you have, use the path from the following links.
C:\users\you\AppData\local\doubletwist corporation\ vista. win7

C:\Documents and Settings\tester\Local Settings\Application Data\doubleTwist Corporation\ xp

Then relaunch doubleTwist which will rebuild this db folder and re-index your library.
